6th Annual Fundraising Gala Thursday, November 13, 2008

It was another wonderful evening at this year's Berton House Gala. Emceed by Vicki Gabereau and Peter Berton the event featured entertainers Ron James, Ken Kostick, Dinah Christie, Catherine McKinnon, and Charlotte Gray.

Proceeds raised help to send four more Canadian writers to the writers-in-residence program in Dawson City for 2009. Now, thanks to you, more than 40 writers have attended Berton House since its beginnings in 1996.

Pierre loved history, writing, cooking, fine dining, and wine. Our theme this year revisied the old dining cars of the late 1800s. Berton House Writers’ Retreat is as special for Canadian writers as the fine dining cars of the 1860s were.
